Trust a company that makes a large profit yet still takes TAX PAYER FUNDED furlough hand-out?
NO. NEVER. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A PENGUIN HOUSE BOOK AGAIN.
First time ordering from this company. I found the cookbook I ordered on another site for a lower price. I literally reached out to PRH within in minutes to cancel my order and they refuse to do so. Mind you, I placed the order on 3/25, and as of 3/26 the order has not been shipped. I was advised that I can return it once I receive it and my refund would take 6-8 weeks to be processed. Makes no sense why they can't cancel an item that has not been shipped. I will be disputing this transaction with my bank. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!
This is a rude and rasist company. They lie saying one thing and make out to be nice but their heart is black evil and sick.
My first time using Penguin Random House was disappointing. I attempted to place an order through their website, and received an error page, so I wasn’t sure that it had gone through. I did not receive a confirmation e-mail, so I contacted customer service to ask if they had received the order. I gave them the e-mail I thought I had used, my full name, and address. I was told that no, it did not go through. One day a package from PRH arrives at my door and I also see that I was charged for the order. I did not receive any email saying it was being shipped or out for delivery. I was under the assumption the order did not go through, so I ordered it again through another company. I sent back the book through USPS out of my own expense. I contacted customer service once again to ask for a refund of both the book and the shipping cost. Due to the miscommunication, I thought that maybe I’d be able to receive that, but I was told it was against their policy and that it was my fault for not providing the correct e-mail address the first time I contacted customer service. But how was I supposed to know exactly which email I had used, if I didn’t receive a confirmation email? I’m glad I just received the refund for the book, but considering they’re a $3.6 Billion company, I’d think they could afford to refund a small shipping cost, when it wasn’t entirely the customer’s fault?
